Burkina Faso – Government Response to the Decision of the United Nations Working Group on the Case of Djibrill Bassole

Following an opinion by the Working Group on the arbitrary detention of the UN Human Rights Council on the case of Djibril BASSOLE against the Burkinabe State, the Minister of Justice, Human Rights and Promotion held a press conference on Friday, July 7, 2017 in Ouagadougou to clarify the issue.

The Government of Burkina Faso, in accordance with the Constitution, the commitments entered into under the National Pact for the Renewal of Justice and its international commitments, can not and must interfere in the functioning of justice.

He also added that Burkina Faso will request a review of the case through the revision procedure under paragraph 21 (c) of the Human Rights Council’s A / HRC / 33/66 Work of the Working Group on Arbitrary Detention of 12 July 2016.

The Government reassures the population of Burkina Faso that the legal proceedings against General Djibril BASSOLE, arrested on 29 September 2015 in connection with the investigation into the coup d’etat of 16 September 2015, regularly takes its course in the context of justice Independent and impartial.

B. Faso – Can 2017 Semi-final – Malang Diedhiou, The Referee Of Burkina-egypt

Burkina Faso will play the first semi-final of the 31st Africa Cup of Nations against Egypt on Wednesday (February 1st). For this match, it was a Senegalese trio, led by Malang Diedhiou, who was designated to ensure the smooth running of the match in the field.

Malang Diédhiou est un arbitre international sénégalais depuis 2008. En seulement neuf ans, il capitalise une somme d’expérience considérable. Il a, à son actif, officié 46 matchs toutes compétitions confondues.

Pour la CAN 2017, qui bat actuellement son plein au Gabon, il a arbitré le match Togo-RDC qui s’est soldé par la défaite (1-3) des Togolais et celui qui a mis aux prises l’Egypte à l’Ouganda (1-0). Son chemin rencontre à nouveau celui des Pharaons d’Egypte après la phase des poules.

Le 12 novembre 2016, c’était encore lui l’arbitre de la rencontre Cameroun-Zambie (1-1) en éliminatoires de la Coupe du Monde 2018. Il a, en plus d’autres compétitions prestigieuses, officié des matchs des Jeux Olympiques Rio 2016 au Brésil. On se rappelle de ce match Japon-Suède (1-0).

En 46 matchs, il a donné 86 cartons jaunes et seulement 3 cartons rouges. Pour une rencontre entre équipes élites, il faut un arbitre d’élite. Ce contrôleur des douanes sénégalaises de 44 ans est le 14e meilleur sifflet mondial.

Pour le match Burkina Faso-Egypte, il sera assisté de Djibril Camara et d’El Hadj Malick Samba, tous Sénégalais. Le commissaire au match, Manuel Irenio Lopes, est Bissau-guinéen.
